Grilled Alaskan Oysters with Herbed Butter | By Blue Starr Oyster Co.

Ingredients for Compound butter

1/2 pound butter room temp

4 cloves garlic minced fine

1/4 cup finely minced fresh herbs.  

1/4 tsp salt

mix well and use put on oysters before grilling and baking.  

Some of my favorite herb blends  to add have been:

3 parts chives, 1 part thyme, 1 part marjoram

1 part parsley, 1 part chives

1 part parsley, 1 part sage, 1 part rosemary, 1 part thyme

1/4 cup basil, 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat grill, or oven to 375F

  • Shuck oysters and lay on a baking sheet.  Try to keep the liqueur in with the oysters. 

  • Place a pat of herbed butter on each oyster and then place on grill, or in oven.  

  • Grill usually takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on size of oysters.  

  • Oven is 12 to 15 minutes.  They are done when the liqueur turns a bit lavender/brown, and they are firm.
